Step into a tropical escape with our Tiki Cocktail Class, where we'll dive into the vibrant world of tiki mixology and create two exotic cocktails that bring a splash of paradise to any occasion.
We’ll start with the Dragonfruit Mai Tai, a show-stopping twist on the tiki classic, made the right way with fresh lime, orgeat, curaçao, and a pop of dragonfruit for a stunning color.
Dragonfruit Mai Tai
1/2 Oz dragonfruit purée (we find this at fresh thyme market in the freezer section)
3/4 Oz Freshly Squeezed lime juice
3/4 Oz orgeat syrup. Shop.
1/2 Oz Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao
2 Oz Havana Club Dark Rum, or another dark rum.
Combine ingredients in a shaker and shake hard with ice for 10-15 seconds. Double strain into a glass with fresh ice and garnish with a spent lime wheel, fresh mint, and a dragonfruit chip.
Next up is the Tradewinds, a creamy, dreamy blend of coconut and apricot that captures the essence of island breezes with every sip, balancing tropical sweetness with a smooth, refreshing finish.
The Tradewinds
1 oz Koloa Kauai Dark Rum
¾ Coco lopez coconut cream
1 oz Freshly squeezed lime juice
Angostura Bitters
Combine ingredients in a shaker tin. Crush 5 scoops of ice and perform a whip shake. Open pour into a tiki mug and top the rest of the way with crushed ice, creating a dome of crushed ice. Dash angostura bitters on top of the dome of crushed ice until the top is stained red and aromatic. Garnish with skewered dried apricots, and a lime wheel. Enjoy!
