Whiskey Class

Our Whiskey Lover's Cocktail Class—a warm and spirited journey into the world of whiskey. We’ll guide you through the art of crafting two bold, flavor-packed cocktails that highlight the depth and character of this timeless spirit.

First up is the Stout Old Fashioned, A twist on the classic Old Fashioned. This drink starts with a foundation of a black walnut Old Fashioned, complemented by a touch of dark demerara syrup. The magic happens when it's topped with a luscious layer of creamy stout beer foam, creating a silky, malty finish that balances the boldness of the whiskey with a touch of velvety decadence. A true marriage of depth and texture, perfect for savoring slowly.

Stout Old Fashioned

Ingredients

2 oz bourbon
2 dashes Angostura aromatic bitters or black walnut bitters
2 dashes orange bitters
1 barspoon rich demerara syrup or maple syrup
Stout beer

Instructions

Combine the bourbon, bitters, and syrup in a mixing glass. Add cracked ice and stir for about 10 to 15 seconds. Strain into a double Old Fashioned glass over a large rock or sphere of ice. Use a handheld milk frother to whip the stout beer into a thick, creamy foam, then gently layer the foam on top of the drink. Express an orange peel over the cocktail and garnish with the peel.

Next, we’ll explore the Passionfruit Whiskey Sour. This cocktail pairs the spicy warmth of rye whiskey with the tropical brightness of passionfruit. Egg whites give it a luxurious, frothy texture, while Amaro Di Angostura lends aromatic complexity. The result is a beautifully balanced drink that's tart, sweet, and spiced, with a glowing golden hue that evokes a tropical sunset.
