Toasted Honey Syrup
Honey, But Elevated
Toasted honey syrup is honey’s richer, more complex cousin—sweet, golden, and layered with nutty, caramelized depth. Gently heating honey on the stove transforms its flavor, adding warmth that enhances cocktails, coffee, and desserts alike. It’s a simple process with a big payoff, turning familiar drinks into something extraordinary. Think of it as honey with soul—comforting, but unmistakably elevated.
INGREDIENTS:
½ cup honey
½ cup water
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a saucepan, simmer the honey over medium heat for about 10 minutes.
Stir constantly—after a few minutes, the honey will foam and bubble.
Continue stirring until it darkens slightly and gives off a nutty, toasty aroma (do not let it burn).
Immediately add the water and stir until fully combined.
Remove from heat, let cool, bottle, and refrigerate.
HOW TO USE IT:
Swap it into cocktails like a Bee’s Knees or Gold Rush for a roasted depth.
Stir into whiskey or rum drinks for a nutty warmth.
Add to mocktails, lattes, or tea for a subtle caramelized sweetness.
The beauty of toasted honey syrup is its versatility: simple to make, endlessly useful, and capable of giving any drink a cozy, elevated twist.
